Wirematic TruTorq AB has a rich history rooted in the family values of its founder. Sven and his wife Monika were the driving force behind the establishment of the company, in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1976 under the name Wirematic Regler AB. They worked tirelessly to develop, produce, and sell pneumatic actuators, laying the foundation for the company’s success.

Their son Jan joined the company in 1986, bringing with him a fresh perspective and a passion for the business. Jan quickly proved himself to be an invaluable asset to the company and was promoted to the role of CEO in 1995. Since then, Jan has been at the helm of the company, steering it through numerous challenges and leading it to even greater heights of success.

Today, Wirematic TruTorq’s family principles remains with Jan as the owner and CEO of the company, with a commitment to the values of honesty, integrity, and hard work that his parents instilled in it from the beginning. These values are reflected in every aspect of the company’s operations, from the design and production of its pneumatic actuators to the way it treats its employees and customers.

The company’s first actuator transferred power into movement using a wire, hence the name ”Wirematic.” However, this design was quickly abandoned in favor of a rack and pinion principle.

The C-type actuator, with springs built into the pistons, was introduced and patented for its compact design, which allowed for actuators with spring return and double acting to have the same dimensions. This design was well-received in the market and sales grew globally.

In 2000, the E-type actuator (Enhanced) was introduced, equipped with a Body Adaptor Kit for direct valve mounting. A few years later, in 2007, the S-type actuator (Small) was added to the product line, specifically designed for small ball valves.

For the last 20 years, the products have been marketed outside of the Nordic region under the name TruTorq and were managed through a subsidiary in Great Britain.

With the goal of increasing production and marketing effectiveness, improving customer service, and streamlining operations, the management made the decision to move all sales and marketing responsibility to Sweden in 2010 and changed the company name to WireMatic TruTorq AB.
